On October 10, 2008, Paul returned as a featured guest artist at the 6th Annual Hapa Haole Hula & Music Festival which was held at the Hale Koa Hotel, Luau Gardens, in Waikiki. The event was emceed by the incomparable, Harry B. Soria, Jr. and included judges Leina`ala Heine, Wayne (Kaho`onei) Panoke, Manu Boyd (Ho`okena), Debbie Nakanelua Richards (Miss Hawaii, 1984) and Flip McDiarmid (Hula Records).

The Hapa Haole Hula & Music Festival brings together musicians and dancers to showcase music and dance from a very unique era in Hawaii’s history. Among other things, it is a night that celebrates the musicians, entertainers, composers and dancers of the time and perpetuates, through song and dance, their legacy and impact on Hawaii’s history and culture.

5 years ago, Paul won the vocal competition at the inaugural Hapa Hale Hula & Music Festival which was then held at the historic Monarch Room of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. On October 10, Paul returned to share the stage with legendary songstress, actress and entertainer, Karen Keawehawaii.

Paul was also honored to have none other than the legendary Kanoe Miller (Miss Hawaii, 1973) elegantly dance to Paul’s rendition of “Lovely Hula Girl”. Kanoe has been entertaining audiences from all over the world with her elegant hula at the renowned Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki.

Charlene Ku`ulei Hazelwood also performed graceful and stunning hula to Paul’s renditions of “Soft Green Seas” and “Somewhere in Hawaii”.
